Your first visit
Just come by.
Walking in the first time can feel like a lot. Here is exactly what happens, so there are no surprises. ALSO Youth is for LGBTQ+ and allied youth ages 10 to 24.
What happens, step by step
Pick a night that fits your age
Every program lists its ages. Try Find your night or check the weekly schedule.
Just come by
There is no online sign-up. Walk in during a program at the Sarasota or Manatee Center.
Register with staff in person
On your first visit, staff help you fill out a short registration. Your details stay with ALSO staff, not on this website.
Read the rules together
Youth and parents or guardians review and agree to the Center Rules and Expectations (PDF). Paper copies are available too.
Settle in
Meet the staff and volunteers, find your people, and come back whenever your night comes around.

What it looks like inside
A first look inside, so the room feels familiar before you walk in.

The welcome area at the Sarasota Center. Sign in here, and grab a free book on your way.
The lounge: bean bags, couches, music, and a snack table.
Mostly, it is a place to find your people.
