ALSO Youth partners with local mental health providers to offer free counseling for LGBTQ+ youth ages 10 to 24 and their families. The therapists are trained in LGBTQ+ issues and have experience with them.

How to start, in three steps
Step 1: Download the interest form
It is two pages. Fill it out completely.
Step 2: Send it to us
Email it to therapy@alsoyouth.org, or mail it to ALSO Youth, 2195 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34237.
Step 3: We follow up
ALSO Youth staff reach out to match you with a counselor who partners with us.
Tip: keep private health details out of the email subject line.

Led by facilitators experienced in these topics. OUTside the Lines and QueerABLE and Parents and Guardians Support Group can be joined in person or virtually.

Who makes this free
In July 2026 the Community Foundation of Sarasota County awarded ALSO Youth a $30,000 grant, mostly through the McCauley-Brown Fund with support from the Robert E. and Lynn Cook Charitable Fund, to expand free counseling, support groups, and behavioral health services. Read the release.
