A $41,000 capacity-building grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s McCauley-Brown Fund, for staff benefits, steady leadership, and better technology.

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County awarded ALSO Youth a $41,000 capacity-building grant from its McCauley-Brown Fund. Instead of paying for one program, this grant strengthens the organization that runs all of them, so the work with LGBTQ+ youth across Sarasota and Manatee Counties can keep growing.

The money goes to three things: expanding health care benefits for employees, investing in the Executive Director role so leadership stays steady through a time of growth and change, and updating the technology behind data, programs, and outreach. Executive Director Annie Berkness called the grant “pivotal” for serving LGBTQ+ youth now and in the future.
