ALSO Youth’s sold-out brunch fundraiser raised $35,530 to fund free LGBTQ+ youth support programs and mental health services in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
ALSO Youth’s Fundraiser Brunch at Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi on March 16, 2025, sold out and raised $35,530 for free programs for LGBTQ+ youth in Sarasota and Manatee Counties, including mental health counseling, leadership development, and social programs. Guests bid in a silent auction on packages like a VIP sushi experience, Universal Orlando tickets, and a Sarasota Orchestra VIP package.
The most powerful moment came before the paddle raise, when a young person who takes part in ALSO Youth shared how the program helped them find safety, identity, and connection. “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our community,” said Mel Gosselin, Executive Director at the time.
